Molecular Genetics with Fission yeast Schizosaccharomyces pombe

Schizosaccharomyces pombe is a key model system in which to study many generic aspects of Eukaryotic cell biology. The work conducted in fission yeast labs has underpinned, and in some cases (cell cycle and chromatin biology) defined, our understanding of basic concepts of Eukaryotic biology.

This course is designed to address the need for training of junior scientists in contemporary fission yeast techniques and approaches.
