Neurodegenerative Diseases

You are cordially invited to participate in the seventh meeting on Neurodegenerative Diseases, which will be held at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory. The meeting will begin with dinner and the first session on the evening of Wednesday, November 28, 2012, and will conclude with lunch on Saturday, December 1.

Rational drug discovery for neurodegenerative diseases has begun to yield compounds and approaches which are entering the clinic. In order for these human studies to yield a maximum of information and success, it is now more crucial than ever for scientists from academia and industry to have forums for the exchange of data and ideas.

This meeting will consist of six to seven sessions, each of which will be composed of one talk by the session chair, one talk by an invited speaker, and several additional talks selected from the submitted abstracts. It is expected that half of the session chairs and speakers (invited and from submitted abstracts) will be from each "sector": i.e., half from academia and half from industry.

Topics:
Prion-Like Neurodegeneration – Initiation and Disease Spread
Risk Factors and Co-Morbidities (Aging, Biomarkers and Genetics)
RNA Metabolism in Neurodegenerative Disease
Glial Biology as New Target for Therapy in Neurodegeneration
Immune and Small Molecule Therapy for AD/PD
