Biological Data Science

The scope of this new CSHL meeting will be computational methods applicable to large-data problems in many areas of biological research, including both genomics and image analysis. Topics that will be covered include Computing Resources (e.g., cloud computing), Data Management (storage, access, networking, data structures, etc.), Visualization, Inference, Encryption and Privacy, and Biological Applications. Participation is welcome from both biological and computational groups in academia and industry. The goal is to assemble a multidisciplinary audience that will discuss best practices, identify challenges, and highlight successes in the storage and analysis of large biological data sets.
