Cellular signalling and molecular medicine

The 3rd EMBO Conference Series on Cellular Signaling & Molecular Medicine is one of a highly successful series of Dubrovnik meetings (since 1998) addressing the molecular complexity of cell signaling processes in relation to health and disease.

Several recent advances in our understanding of cellular signaling mechanisms have been successfully translated to the
development of novel strategies for disease treatment. The 2012 Conference will focus on the most exciting areas of cellular signaling.

The program covers topics such as spatial control, metabolic signaling and innate immunity; in animal models for stem cell development and cancer, and in specific aspects of cell biology, such as cell adhesion. In addition novel approaches, including systems biology, genetic screens and proteomics, will be discussed.
»A key goal of this conference is to promote the education of young scientists and catalyze constructive scientific interactions and cross-fertilization among fields via lectures, poster presentations, selected talks, tutorials and informal discussions. «

Based on previous meetings we estimate an attendance of up to 180 international and local participants, including established investigators from academic and industrial sectors, as well as junior fellows and students.

To stimulate the interaction between participants we ask for your active participation by submitting abstracts. Approximately 25% of the speakers will be selected based on submitted abstracts for short talk presentations. In addition, there will be two poster sessions that will be evaluated by a poster award committee.
